Okay, so I’ve been seeing a lot of buzz around this perfume called Good Fortune by Viktor & Rolf. I kept hearing about it everywhere, and, well, I’m a sucker for a good scent, so I decided to give it a shot. It all started when I stumbled upon some random blog post raving about it. The person said they got a sample and were totally hooked. Intrigued, I was like, “Alright, let’s see what this hype is all about.”
I did a bit of digging and found out that Viktor & Rolf are these avant-garde fashion guys who started their brand back in ’93. Fancy, huh? And then, get this, I read somewhere that even Taylor Swift wears their stuff, specifically Flowerbomb. And that one is like, super popular, ranking 13th in the world’s most feminine fragrances, or something like that, and 3rd in Australia – insane!
Anyway, back to Good Fortune. I found some reviews online, including one where this lady tried it as a “blind buy.” I was on the fence, but then I saw that a store called Adore Beauty was having a deal – free shipping and a free sample with orders. Sold! I’m a sucker for freebies, and I figured, “Why not?” Plus, they had this Afterpay thing where you can pay later, which is always dangerous for my wallet, but hey, it’s convenient.
My Experiment and Observations
So, I ordered it, and when it arrived, I was pretty excited. Here’s what I did:
- The Unboxing: First off, the packaging was pretty nice. Very sleek and luxurious-feeling. Made me feel like I was treating myself to something special.
- First Sniff: I sprayed a bit on my wrist and took a whiff. The initial scent was this “bright and aromatic note” that they described. It was definitely noticeable but not overpowering, which is good because I hate perfumes that are too in-your-face.
- The Dry-Down: After a while, the scent settled into this warm, floral smell. I guess that’s the jasmine they talk about. It felt very feminine and, honestly, kind of fancy.
- The Base Notes: The last part of the scent journey was this creamy, vanilla-ish smell. The description says it’s “bourbon vanilla” sourced from Madagascar. Sounds exotic, right? It was definitely a comforting and cozy scent.
- Longevity: I wore it throughout the day, and I have to say, it lasted pretty well. I could still smell it on my wrist by the evening, though it was definitely more subtle by then.
Overall, I’d say Good Fortune is a winner. It’s got a nice balance of different scents that blend well together, and it’s not too overpowering. It feels luxurious and special, but also wearable for everyday use. I’m not sure if I’d say it’s my all-time favorite, but I definitely enjoyed it and would recommend giving it a try, especially if you like floral and vanilla scents. It’s a solid choice, and hey, who knows, maybe I’ll even feel a little bit like Taylor Swift when I wear it! Haha.
