Alright, let’s talk about the “mala madre” plant. I got into this whole gardening thing a while back, and I gotta say, it’s been a wild ride. So, the other day, I decided to get my hands on this plant called “mala madre”. Now, you’re probably thinking, “What the heck is that?” Well, it’s also known as the “bad mother” plant in some places. Sounds kinda harsh, right?
Anyway, I went ahead and ordered a couple of these little guys online. They arrived in no time, and let me tell you, the packaging was on point! I was worried they’d get all banged up during shipping, but nope, they were in perfect condition. Each one was about 3-4 inches tall, with these tiny little plantlets already growing on the leaves. Kinda cute, in a weird way.
Getting Started
- First, I unboxed them carefully, like unwrapping a fragile gift.
- Then, I checked them over for any signs of damage. All good there.
- Next, I prepared some pots with some regular potting soil. Nothing fancy, just the usual stuff.
The Planting Process
I gently removed each plant from its original container. The roots were all tangled up, but I managed to separate them without too much trouble. I placed each plant in its new pot, making sure the roots were spread out nicely. Then, I filled in the rest of the pot with soil, pressing it down gently to make sure the plant was secure.
- Carefully took each plant out of its little pot.
- Gently untangled the roots. It was a bit of a mess, but I got it done.
- Planted them in their new homes, adding more soil and patting it down.
The Waiting Game
After planting, I gave them a good watering, making sure the soil was nice and moist. Then, it was just a waiting game. I placed the pots in a sunny spot on my windowsill and waited for them to do their thing. And you know what? They started growing like crazy! Those little plantlets on the leaves? They started getting bigger and bigger. And those sharp hairs that produce burning, if I touch it, I will feel not good. It is why it is called “bad woman”.
Watching Them Grow
- Watered them regularly, keeping the soil moist but not soggy.
- Watched them grow, day by day. It was pretty cool to see.
- Noticed the plantlets getting bigger and starting to form their own roots.
Now, these plants are known for being pretty resilient, and they definitely lived up to the hype. They didn’t need a whole lot of attention, just some water and sunlight. But let me tell you, those little plantlets? They’re like tiny little versions of the main plant, and they eventually fall off and start growing on their own. It’s like having a whole army of plants!
So, that’s my “mala madre” journey so far. It’s been a fun little experiment, and I’m excited to see how these plants continue to grow. Who knows, maybe I’ll have a whole jungle of “bad mother” plants in no time! It is the best thing from nature, and it makes me feel so good. It will nourish my life.
