Okay, so I’ve been seeing these constellation necklaces everywhere and I finally decided to make my own. I wanted a Libra one, obviously, because, well, I’m a Libra!
First, I gathered all my materials. This was the fun part, because it involved a trip to the craft store. Here is the list:
- A small, thin, gold-colored chain.
- Tiny gold star-shaped beads. I found some really delicate ones.
- A small gold ring or pendant blank. (I went with a simple circle.)
- Jewelry pliers – you need the tiny ones for this kind of work.
- Jump rings (those little connector rings). Get a few, just in case.
- A clasp for the necklace.
- Super glue or jewelry glue, for an extra safe hold.
The Fun Begins!
I started by laying out my little circle pendant and figuring out where the stars should go to make the Libra constellation. I just kinda eyeballed it, to be honest. It’s not like anyone’s going to be checking it against an astronomy chart, right?
Once I had a rough idea, I used a tiny dab of glue to stick the star beads onto the circle. I held each one in place for a few seconds to make sure it was secure. I did add a little tiny drop extra.

Then came the slightly tricky part. I used the pliers to open a jump ring and attach it to the top of the circle pendant. Then, I threaded the chain through that jump ring. See? Now it’s starting to look like a necklace!
Finally, I added the clasp. I used the pliers again to open another jump ring, attach one part of the clasp to one end of the chain, and then did the same thing with the other part of the clasp on the other end of the chain.
And that’s it! My very own Libra constellation necklace. It was super easy, and it looks way more expensive than it actually was to make. I’m pretty proud of it, not gonna lie. I’m already thinking about making them as gifts!
