Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this “Aries Automotive” thing lately, and let me tell you, it’s been a bit of a ride. I wanted to upgrade the look of my truck, give it a bit more of that “off-road ready” vibe, you know?
First, I started by just browsing. I mean, who doesn’t love looking at pictures of tricked-out trucks? I spent hours just scrolling through different websites, checking out what Aries had to offer. They have a ton of stuff – bull bars, grille guards, side steps, floor liners…the list goes on.
After I narrowed down my choices, I decided to go with a new grille guard and some side steps. The grille guard just looked tough, and the side steps would make it easier for my (vertically challenged) wife to get in and out of the truck. Win-win!
The Installation Process
Now, I’m not exactly what you’d call a “mechanic.” I can change a tire and check the oil, but that’s about the extent of my automotive expertise. So, I was a little nervous about installing this stuff myself. I watched a few videos, read through the instructions (multiple times), and gathered all my tools. Wish me luck.

The grille guard was definitely the bigger challenge. It involved a lot of bolting and aligning, and I had to recruit my neighbor to help me hold the thing in place while I tightened everything down. It was a two-person job, for sure. There were a few moments where I thought I’d messed something up, but I just took a deep breath and kept going.
- Unbox everything: Make sure all the parts are there and not damaged. This seems obvious, but I’ve learned the hard way to check!
- Read the instructions: Again, obvious, but seriously, read them. Then read them again.
- Loosely attach eveything first, dont tighten it yet!
- Get help: An extra set of hands makes a huge difference, especially with the heavier parts.
- Tighten everything down: Once it’s all aligned, go back and tighten all the bolts.
- Step back and admire: You did it!
The side steps were much easier. They basically just bolted onto the existing frame of the truck. Even I couldn’t mess that up (and I didn’t!).
Finally, after a few hours of sweat and maybe a few curse words, everything was installed. I stood back and looked at my truck, and honestly, it looked pretty awesome. The Aries stuff really added that rugged look I was going for.
So, that’s my Aries Automotive adventure. It was a bit of a challenge, but definitely doable, even for a non-mechanic like me. If you’re thinking about upgrading your ride, I’d say give it a shot! Just be prepared to put in a little work (and maybe enlist a friend to help).
