Ya know, them Gemini Bridges out near Moab, they’re somethin’ else, I tell ya. Folks keep jabberin’ about ’em, and I reckon I can see why. It’s a bit of a bumpy ride gettin’ there, not like the smooth roads they got in the city. But, worth it, they say.
Now, they’s two ways to git to these bridges, or so I’ve heard. One way, you gotta have one of them fancy four-wheel drive contraptions, high off the ground. Sounds like a hassle to me. The other way, it’s just a dirt road. I like dirt roads, less fuss. Dirt roads are good.
Heard tell some folks been treatin’ the land bad, leavin’ trash and whatnot. Makes ya shake your head, it does. They closed some trails, tryin’ to keep the animals and old stuff safe. Makes sense, I guess. Can’t be lettin’ folks ruin everythin’.
- Gotta protect the land.
- Gotta keep things clean.
- Animals need a place to live.
This Day Canyon Point, that’s one they shut down. Don’t know much about it, but folks say it was somethin’ special. Shame it got messed up.
The whole thing, this Gemini Bridges trail, it’s long. Like, real long. Almost 30 miles, they say. Back and forth. That’s a lotta walkin’, if you ask me. My old bones ain’t up for that kind of trek anymore.
But, I reckon if you’re young and full of vinegar, it might be somethin’ you’d like. See the sights, take some pictures. Just don’t be leavin’ your garbage behind. And stick to the roads they tell ya to stick to. Don’t want ’em closin’ down more trails, now do we?
They got these tours, too. Folks take ya out there, show ya around. Saves you the trouble of drivin’, I suppose. And they say you can cancel if you change your mind, get your money back. That’s important, gettin’ your money back. Don’t want to be throwin’ good money after bad.
Never been one for them fancy tours myself. Prefer to do things on my own time, my own way. But, to each their own, I always say. Some folks like to be led around, have everythin’ planned out for ’em.
Anyways, if you’re headin’ out that way, to see them Gemini Bridges, be prepared. Take plenty of water, wear good shoes. And don’t forget your camera, if you’re into that sort of thing. It’s a sight to behold, they tell me.
Just remember, be respectful. The land, the animals, the folks who live there. We’re all just passin’ through, in the end. Leave things better than you found ’em, that’s what I always say.
So go on, see them Gemini Bridges if you got the itch. Just be smart about it. And maybe, just maybe, you’ll understand why everyone’s talkin’ about ’em.
