Well, let me tell ya ’bout this here… uh… Vir-go thing-a-ma-jig necklace. My grandkid, the one with the fancy phone, showed me a picture. Said it’s somethin’ the young folks like. Looks like a shiny little somethin’ with a picture on it. They call it a “constellation,” which sounds mighty complicated to me.
Now, they tell me this Vir-go thing is one of them star signs. You know, like the ones they talk about in the almanac, only fancier. Apparently, it’s got somethin’ to do with a lady, a pure lady they say. Some folks back in the day even thought it was that Mary, you know, the one from the Bible. But then there’s another story ’bout some Greek goddess named Dee-key, who was all about bein’ fair and just. She held the scales, they say, like the ones they use at the market to weigh yer vegetables, only, you know, fancier.
Seein’ stars ain’t easy, let me tell ya. But they say this Vir-go star bunch is up there next to some other ones, Boot-ease and Lie-bra, they call ’em. If you wanna find it, you gotta look for that Big Dipper thingy first. You know, the one that looks like a big spoon. Then you gotta follow the handle, like you’re drawin’ a line in the sky, until you get to this bright star, Art-tour-us, they call it. It’s all a bit much for an old woman like me, but that’s what they say.
Now, why would anyone wanna wear a picture of stars around their neck? Beats me. But the young folks, they do all sorts of strange things. My grandkid says it reminds ’em of who they are, gives ’em strength or some such nonsense. Says it’s like carryin’ a piece of themselves, like a lucky charm, I guess. Each star sign, they say, has its own special meanin’, and the Vir-go one means you’re probably a good person, always tryin’ to do what’s right.
- They make these necklaces out of all sorts of things. Some are shiny silver, some are gold, and some are just plain old metal.
- They put little stones on ’em, too, sparkly ones that catch the light.
- My grandkid showed me some online, and they got all kinds, different shapes, different sizes, some even with little pictures on the back.
And the prices? Lordy, they can be somethin’ else. Some cost a pretty penny, while others are cheap as chips. Depends on what it’s made of, I reckon. You can get ’em at fancy stores, or you can get ’em online, which is where my grandkid does all her shoppin’ these days. They even deliver it right to your door, can you believe it? Back in my day, you had to go to the store and pick things out yourself!
This here Vir-go star bunch, it’s also got a special shape in the sky, they call it the “Diamond of Vir-go.” It’s made up of some real bright stars, and it looks kinda like, well, a diamond. One of them stars is called Spica, and another one is that Art-tour-us I mentioned earlier. It’s supposed to be real pretty, but I ain’t never seen it myself.
So, there you have it, all I know about this Vir-go necklace thing. It’s a piece of jewelry with a star picture on it, meant to remind you of who you are. Whether it’s worth the money, well, that’s for you to decide. Me, I’d rather spend my money on a good cup of coffee and a warm blanket. But then again, I’m just an old woman who don’t know much about these fancy newfangled things.
