Alright, let’s talk about this… this thing, what’s it called? Virpil Constellation Alpha Prime Warbrd. Yeah, that’s a mouthful. Sounds fancy, like somethin’ them city folks would use. But listen, I ain’t no expert, just tellin’ ya what I see and what I heard, you know?
So, this Warbrd thing, it’s like a stick, a fancy stick for playin’ them computer games. My grandson, he’s always goin’ on about flyin’ spaceships and fightin’ wars in the stars. He got one of these, cost a pretty penny, I tell ya. He says it’s the best, makes the game feel real. Real, I tell ya! Like you’re actually sittin’ in that spaceship.
He showed me how it works once. All these buttons and switches, looks complicated. Reminds me of them control panels they got in airplanes, seen ’em on TV. This thing, though, it’s for your hand, you move it around and it controls the spaceship in the game. He says it’s smooth, real smooth. Like butter, he says. Better than them cheap sticks you get at the store, those break easy.
- First off, it’s got this fancy grip, the Alpha Prime, they call it. Feels nice in your hand, my grandson says. Not too heavy, not too light, just right.
- Then there’s the base, the Warbrd-D. That’s the part that sits on the table. Sturdy, he says, doesn’t move around when you’re flyin’ around like crazy.
- And some folks, they get this whole set-up, with a throttle too. Makes it even more real, they say. Like you’re actually controllin’ the engine and everything.
Now, I don’t know much about these space games, but my grandson, he plays this Star Citizen game, somethin’ about flyin’ spaceships and tradin’ stuff. He says this Virpil stick makes it way better. More fun. More…immersive, he calls it. Sounds like it sucks you right in. He spends hours on that thing, just flyin’ around. Kids these days, I tell ya, always glued to them screens.
From what I gather, this Virpil company, they been makin’ these sticks for a while now, since 2017, my grandson told me. They started with the Constellation series, he says, made ’em special for folks who like flyin’ spaceships in games. And this Alpha Prime, it’s like the newest, fanciest one they got.
He says the stick ain’t too heavy on the base, which is good, I guess. Means you can move it around easy without gettin’ tired. He’s real particular ’bout these things. Says it has to be just right, or else it throws off his whole game. Kids these days are so picky.
And it ain’t just for Star Citizen neither. He says you can use it with all sorts of flight games. Even them old-timey airplane ones, if you want. It’s all about makin’ the game feel real, he keeps tellin’ me. Like you’re actually in the cockpit, flyin’ the plane, or the spaceship, or whatever.
So, is it worth all the money? Well, my grandson seems to think so. He’s always smilin’ when he’s usin’ it. And he’s always tellin’ his friends online about it. Seems like all them space game folks, they all want one of these. It’s like a fancy club or somethin’.
I tell ya, technology these days, it’s somethin’ else. Back in my day, we didn’t have nothin’ like this. We had sticks, alright, but they were for stirrin’ pots, not flyin’ spaceships. But hey, if it makes the kids happy, I guess it’s alright. Just as long as they don’t spend all their money on it, and remember to eat their vegetables, that’s what I say. And maybe come outside once in a while, get some fresh air. That’s important too, ya know?
So that’s the lowdown on this Virpil stick thing, as best as I can tell ya. It’s fancy, it’s expensive, and it makes them space games feel real, apparently. If you’re into that sort of thing, maybe it’s worth checkin’ out. But don’t come complainin’ to me if you spend all your money and end up eatin’ ramen noodles for a month!
