Well, let me tell ya ’bout this here… thingamajig, this Auralic Aries G3. I ain’t no fancy tech person, ya know? I just like things that work and sound good. So, if you’re lookin’ for all them fancy words and numbers, go ask them city folks. I’m just gonna tell it like it is.
First off, this here G3, it’s a box. Yup, a box. Not too big, not too small. Just right, I guess. It’s about the size of a good thick book, ya know, the kind you used to read before all this internet stuff. They say it’s 25 x 20 x 7cm and weighs somethin’ like 0.8kg. I don’t know ’bout all them centimeters and kilograms, but it ain’t heavy. Easy to carry around, even for an old gal like me.
Now, what does this box do? Well, it plays music. Good music, too. Not like that scratchy stuff on them old records, though I do miss them sometimes. This here G3, it gets music from…well, from the air, I guess. From the internet, they say. You hook it up to your speakers, and bam! Music comes out. Clear as a bell, they say. And it is pretty darn clear, I gotta admit.
- It’s got this thing called a “streamer.” Sounds fancy, huh? But all it means is it gets music from the internet.
- Then it’s got somethin’ called a “DAC”, I think. They say it makes the music sound better. Don’t ask me how, it just does.
- And you can hook it up with wires, or without. I like the wires, myself. More reliable, ya know? But them young folks, they like the wireless stuff. Too much fuss for me.
This Auralic company, they’re from far away, China I think. But they got an office in America too, in some place called Oregon. Never been there myself. They seem to know what they’re doin’, though. They make all sorts of these music boxes. Some are bigger, some are smaller, some are older, some are newer. This G3, it’s one of the newer ones, I reckon.
They got other boxes too, like this “Vega” they talk about. That one’s different, they say. It’s more about the sound and less about gettin’ music from the internet. I don’t know much about that one. This Aries G3 is enough for me.
Setting it up ain’t too hard, even for me. You just plug it in, hook it up to your speakers, and then… well, you gotta do somethin’ with your phone or computer, but my grandson helped me with that. He’s good with them gadgets. Once it’s all set up, it’s easy peasy. Just pick a song, and it plays. Loud or soft, fast or slow, whatever you like.
Now, why would you want one of these things? Well, if you like music, and you want it to sound good, then this here G3 is a good choice. It ain’t cheap, mind you. But good things never are, right? And it’s smaller than some of them other music players. Fits nice on my shelf, doesn’t take up too much space.
They had older ones too, like the Aries Mini and some other ones they don’t make no more, like “Femto” and “LE”. Sounded complicated to me, so I got the new one. This G3, it’s just… good. Simple as that. It does what it’s supposed to do, and it does it well. And that’s all that matters to me.
So, there you have it. My take on this Auralic Aries G3. Not too technical, not too fancy. Just plain talkin’ from an old gal who likes her music. If you wanna know more, go look it up online. Them city folks know all the fancy words. Me, I just know what I like.
