Okay, so I’ve been seeing this question pop up everywhere: “Are Scorpios liars?” It’s been bugging me, so I decided to do a little digging of my own. Not exactly scientific, but hey, it’s all about experience, right?
I started by, you know, just thinking about the Scorpios I know. My ex, Sarah? Scorpio. My best friend’s brother, Mike? Scorpio. That one really intense coworker from my old job? Yep, Scorpio. So, I had a decent sample size, I guess.
I thought back on my interactions with them. Did they lie a lot? Did they seem to enjoy it? Was it just little white lies, or like, big, whopper-sized lies?
My Deep Dive (aka, Thinking Really Hard)
- Sarah: Okay, so she wasn’t a constant liar, but she definitely had a way of… withholding information. Like, she’d tell you what she thought you needed to know, not necessarily the whole truth. More like, “strategic omission,” if that makes sense.
- Mike: Mike’s a different story. He’s pretty blunt, actually. Sometimes brutally honest, which, honestly, I kind of appreciate. No games, you know?
- The Coworker: This guy… Okay, he was intense. And yeah, he did seem to stretch the truth sometimes, especially when it came to taking credit for things. Not cool.
So, my totally unscientific, based-on-my-life-only “research” showed a mixed bag. Some Scorpios, yeah, they seem to have a tendency to bend the truth or leave things out. Others are super upfront.

Then I went down a bit of a rabbit hole, reading about Scorpio traits online. It’s all about intensity, passion, and a bit of a mysterious vibe. Maybe that “mysterious” part is where the “liar” stereotype comes from? Because they’re not always giving you the full picture, people assume they’re hiding something, even if they’re not.
I concluded that it’s not really fair to say all Scorpios are liars. Like any other group of people, they’re individuals. Some are honest, some aren’t, and some are somewhere in between. It’s probably more accurate to say they’re good at keeping secrets, and sometimes that can look like lying, even if it isn’t always intentional.
It has to be said, though I could be off, and I could have met more but I will keep my observation open and try to observe more in the future, and I will update you all.
