Okay, so today I’m going to talk about how I got that cool Aries Livery on my BeamNG Charger. It wasn’t too hard, but it took a bit of doing. So, I’ll walk you through what I did step by step, just like I figured it out.
First off, I found this Aries Dodge Charger mod. I’ve always been a fan of the Dodge Charger, and once I saw the Aries design, I knew I had to have it. I grabbed the mod, which everyone seems to know is in beta, so it’s like a work in progress, but it looked good enough for me.
Now, I had to get the skin onto the car in the game. I opened up the editor in BeamNG. I hit up the free camera mode and selected my car. Then, I went into the material editor. In there, I clicked on “fullsize” and found layer 3. That’s where the magic happens. I clicked on the first empty box and put in the skin from the mod folder. Don’t forget to press Alt + S, this saves everything you’ve done.
I also found out about this thing called ‘skin helper.’ Apparently, it’s supposed to make getting skins into the game easier, but I haven’t tried it yet. I just followed the steps for the material editor, and it worked fine for me.
There’s also an “Add Resource” button on the ‘MODS’ page. I haven’t messed with that yet, but I think it’s for when you want to make your own mod and share it with other people. Maybe one day I will try this out.
There is something worth mentioning, like this is just a config I made of the original mod. I guess it is a pretty cool feature!
I saw a couple of tutorials online, and they were the official ones, so that’s pretty cool. I’ve been messing around with and making skins, so I was ready to try this out.
There was some talk about a US Army Dodge Aries skin, which sounds awesome. This one was for a Bruckell LeGran, but it’s the same idea. Army-themed skins are always cool, it looks pretty solid.
There is a thing that some people online call Chives / 2CRZY Performance Dodge Charger 15-23 BETA V1, It is similar to Aries Dodge Charger Revamp BETA.
Someone also mentioned the Hirochi SBR, which is a completely different car, but hey, different strokes for different folks, right? It might be something to look into if you’re into that kind of thing.
- Open the editor
- Select free camera
- Click on your vehicle
- Select material editor
- Click on ‘fullsize’
- Select layer 3
- Click on the first empty box
- Install the skin from the vehicle folder
- Press Alt + S to save
So that’s basically it. I got the Aries Livery on my Charger, and it looks awesome. It’s not too hard to do, just follow the steps, and you’ll be good. And if you’re feeling adventurous, you can try making your own skins or messing around with the mod settings. Have fun, and enjoy your new ride!
