Alright, folks, gather ’round! Today, I’m gonna share my little adventure of making an Aries necklace with coral enamel. Now, I ain’t no fancy jeweler, but I do love getting my hands dirty with some DIY projects. And this one, oh boy, it was a ride!
First, I dusted off my old toolbox and rummaged through my bead collection. I had this idea in my head of a fiery Aries symbol, so I was on the hunt for some red coral beads. Found some after a bit of digging, perfect!
Next up, I needed something to make the Aries shape. I opted for some gold-colored wire I had lying around. It wasn’t real gold, mind you, but it looked the part. I started bending and shaping the wire, trying to get that ram horn look just right. It took a few tries, let me tell ya. My fingers were definitely feeling it!
Once I was happy with the wireframe, it was time for the enamel. I’ve never really worked with enamel before, but I figured, how hard could it be? I picked up a small tin of coral red enamel paint, the kind you use for little craft projects. I carefully started painting the wireframe, making sure to get into all the nooks and crannies.
- Layer one, let it dry.
- Layer two, let it dry.
- And then I thought, why not add a third layer for good measure?
While the enamel was drying, I started working on the chain. I had a simple gold-toned chain that I thought would match the pendant nicely. I attached a small jump ring to the top of the Aries symbol, so I could hang it on the chain.
Finally, once everything was dry and assembled, I had my very own Aries necklace with coral enamel! It wasn’t perfect, mind you. There were a few smudges here and there, and the wire wasn’t perfectly symmetrical. But you know what? I made it with my own two hands, and that’s what counts.
I’ve been wearing it around, and I gotta say, I’m pretty proud of it. It’s a little reminder of my fiery Aries spirit, and a testament to the fact that you don’t need to be a pro to create something beautiful. So, if you’re feeling crafty, why not give it a go yourself? You might surprise yourself with what you can create!
And that is the story about how I made the Aries necklace, hope you enjoyed it!
