Well, let me tell ya ’bout this Aries thing. I heard folks talkin’ about it, so I figured I’d share what I know, or what I think I know, heh.
So, they say Aries is one of them zodiac signs. You know, like them pictures they draw in the sky? Yeah, that’s the one. They say it’s like… a fire sign. Now, I ain’t no fancy city slicker, but I reckon that means folks born under this Aries thing are, you know, fiery. Like, they get all worked up easy, always jumpin’ into things headfirst. Kinda like my old rooster, always peckin’ at everything, even when it ain’t food!
They tell me Aries folks are born between March 21st and April 19th. I don’t rightly remember when all my young’uns were born, too many to keep track of, ya know? But if you were born ’round then, maybe you’re one of these Aries people. Good for you, I guess.
Now, these city folks, they got all sorts of ways to talk about this Aries stuff. They got horoscopes and planets and all that jazz. I heard ’em say somethin’ ’bout “daily horoscopes” and “weekly horoscopes”. Sounds like a bunch of hooey to me, but hey, who am I to judge? They say these horoscopes can tell ya ’bout your love life and your work and all that. I tell ya, the only way to know ’bout love is to feel it, and the only way to know ’bout work is to get yer hands dirty. Ain’t no fancy star chart gonna tell ya that!
- They say Aries folks are leaders. Guess that means they like to be in charge, tellin’ everyone what to do. Sounds like my ol’ man, always bossin’ me around, God rest his soul.
- And they talk ’bout passion and enthusiasm. Well, I reckon that’s just another way of sayin’ they get excited easy. Like when my grandbaby saw a butterfly for the first time, all wide-eyed and gigglin’. That’s passion, I tell ya.
- They say somethin’ ’bout courage too. Means they ain’t afraid of nothin’, I guess. Like that time I chased a raccoon outta my chicken coop with nothin’ but a broom. Now that’s courage!
I also heard ’em mention other signs, like Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, and a whole bunch more. Sounded like a whole alphabet soup to me. They got Libra, that’s somethin’ ’bout love, they say. And Gemini, somethin’ ’bout takin’ yer time and feelin’ yer feelings. Heck, I feel my feelin’s every day, ain’t nothin’ special ’bout that! And this Pisces, Aquarius, Scorpio… Lordy, so many names, makes my head spin.
They even talk ’bout the planets movin’ around and affectin’ things. Says somethin’ ’bout a planet returnin’ after 14 or 15 days. I don’t know nothin’ ’bout that. The only planet I know is this here Earth, and it ain’t movin’ nowhere fast enough for me to notice. But these city folks, they got charts and graphs and all sorts of ways to measure them things. More power to ’em, I say.
And then there’s somethin’ called a cusp. Sounds like somethin’ you spit out, don’t it? But they say it means you’re born when one sign is changin’ to another. Like you’re standin’ on the fence, one foot in one yard, and the other foot in the next. I tell ya, I prefer my feet on solid ground, thank ya very much.
So, that’s what I know ‘bout this Aries thing, and all them other signs too. Don’t take my word for it, though. I’m just an old woman, I don’t know nothin’ ’bout nothin’. But if you’re interested in this stuff, there’s plenty of folks out there who’ll tell ya more. Just remember, ain’t nothin’ more important than livin’ a good life, bein’ kind to folks, and workin’ hard. That’s what I say, anyways.
