Okay, so I’ve been messing around with paint colors again, this time diving into the Benjamin Moore collection. You know, trying to find that perfect shade for my living room makeover. I stumbled upon this thing called “Constellation,” part of their Affinity collection. Sounded fancy, so I was like, why not?
First off, I went to their color page to order a few samples. I’m not just gonna slap paint on the walls without testing it out first, no sir. I picked out some of the best-selling ones, you know, just to see what the hype was about. I figured, if everyone else likes them, there’s gotta be something to it, right?
Starting My Experiment
Then I started looking at the “Constellation AF-540” thing. It’s this kinda blue-ish, maybe gray-ish color? Hard to describe, but it looked pretty chill. And they had it on the main page. I think it is the color of the year, so it must be something special.
I learned something else, a color wheel that has warm colors on one side – reds, yellows, oranges – and cool colors on the other – blues, greens, that kind of stuff. And apparently, picking colors from the same side makes things look, well, nicer together. But mixing them up can be cool too, in a wild way.
The whole idea with the Affinity collection is that the colors are supposed to work well together. So, I grabbed a few more samples from that collection, just to play around. I started slapping them on some poster boards, moving them around the room, seeing how they looked in different light.
- Morning light: Some colors looked totally different in the morning compared to the evening. Kinda blew my mind, actually.
- Evening light: The “Constellation” color looked super cozy at night, which is what I’m going for.
- Different angles: Even just moving the board to a different wall made a difference.
I spent a good few days just messing with these samples, driving my family crazy, probably. But hey, it’s important to get it right, you know? Painting a whole room is a big deal, and I don’t want to end up hating the color after a week.
So, that’s where I’m at now. Still not 100% sure which color I’m going with, but the “Constellation” is definitely a strong contender. It’s got this vibe that’s both calming and, I don’t know, sophisticated? Like, it makes me feel like I have my life together, even though I’m just sitting here covered in paint samples.
Anyway, I’ll keep you guys posted on my paint adventures. It’s a wild world out there in the land of color swatches, let me tell you.
