So, the other day I got this idea to make a Capricorn constellation necklace. I’m not really into astrology, but I’ve always loved looking at the stars, and Capricorn is my sign, so I thought, why not?
First, I looked up what the Capricorn constellation actually looks like. Turns out, it’s a bit of a weird one, kind of like a lopsided triangle. I sketched it out a few times on paper, just to get a feel for it.
Then, I started thinking about materials. I knew I wanted something simple and minimalist, so I decided on a thin silver chain. For the constellation itself, I thought about using tiny beads or maybe even little diamonds, but then I remembered I had some old silver wire lying around.
Using the wire was a bit tricky. I had to bend it carefully to match the shape of the constellation, using my sketches as a guide. I used some small pliers to help me get the angles right. It took a few tries, but eventually, I managed to get it looking pretty good.
- Finding the right shape of the constellation.
- Bending the wire without breaking it.
- Attaching the constellation to the chain.
Next, I had to figure out how to attach the wire constellation to the chain. I decided to make small loops at the ends of the wire and then use jump rings to connect them to the chain. This part was probably the most fiddly, but I got there in the end.
And that’s it! My very own handmade Capricorn constellation necklace. It’s not perfect, but I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. It’s a nice little reminder of my sign and my love for the stars. It was a fun little project, and it didn’t even take that long to do. It’s not about whether you’re born between December 22 and January 19. I just made something cool for myself. I just wanted to share the whole process, maybe inspire some of you guys to try making something yourself too!
