Well, let me tell ya ’bout this Capricorn sculpture in Sedona. I ain’t no fancy art expert, mind you, but I heard folks talkin’ and I seen some pictures. Sounds like a big deal, this thing.
They say it’s been a long, long time, like, seventy-five years or somethin’. That’s a whole lotta time, even for an old woman like me! Imagine somethin’ sittin’ around that long. This Capricorn, it ain’t just any ol’ statue, see? It’s a “monumental sculpture,” they call it. Made by some fella named Max Ernst. Never heard of him, myself, but they say he was a big shot artist back in the day.
- Made a long time ago, over 75 years!
- Big and important, a “monumental sculpture” they say.
- A fella named Max Ernst made it, he was a famous artist.
Now, this sculpture, it’s in Sedona. That’s in Arizona, a real purdy place, I hear. Red rocks and all that. Folks say it’s like magic out there, got some kind of special energy. They call ’em “vortexes.” Sounds like somethin’ outta a sci-fi movie, if you ask me. But hey, people seem to like it. Artists, especially. They go there to get all inspired and whatnot. Filmmakers, painters, musicians – the whole shebang.
Sedona’s beauty is somethin’ else, they say. Cliffs and rocks all shaped funny, like nothin’ you ever seen before. It’s what makes Sedona special, draws folks in like flies to honey. And this Capricorn sculpture, well, it’s part of that whole deal. It’s been there for a good long while, seein’ all the changes, watchin’ all the people come and go.
This Max Ernst fella, he spent some time in Sedona. That’s where he made this big Capricorn. Seems like other artists and fancy folks used to visit him out there. Made a whole thing of it, like a pilgrimage, they called it. Guess it was a pretty big deal back then. This place, it sounds real special, this “surreal location” they talk about.
Now, if you’re itchin’ to see this Capricorn sculpture, you gotta go to Sedona. But I ain’t sure where it is exactly. They say you can take a tour, a “private historical tour,” to learn all about it. Maybe that’s the best way to go, ‘specially if you’re like me and don’t know nothin’ ’bout art history. They can tell you all the stories and whatnot, show you where everything is. It’s probably better than wanderin’ around like a lost calf.
Sedona ain’t just about the Capricorn, though. It’s a whole experience, they say. The light, the rocks, the energy – it all adds up to somethin’ special. They talk about how the light changes all the time, makin’ the place look different dependin’ on the time of day. And those rocks, they’re somethin’ else. All different shapes and sizes, standin’ tall against the sky. It’s a sight to see, I reckon.
So, if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ different, somethin’ beautiful, and somethin’ with a bit of history, Sedona might be just the ticket. And don’t forget to check out that Capricorn sculpture. It’s been there a long time, and it’s got a story to tell. Even an old woman like me can appreciate that. It’s part of Sedona’s heart and soul, they say, and that sounds like somethin’ worth seein’.
They say there are these vortexes there too. Places with special energy. Airport Mesa and Cathedral Rock are a couple of them. Now, I don’t know about all that energy stuff, sounds kinda spooky if you ask me, but folks seem to like it. Maybe it’s real, maybe it ain’t. But if it gets people out there enjoyin’ nature and art, I reckon it can’t be all bad.
So there you have it, what I know about the Capricorn sculpture in Sedona. Like I said, I’m no expert, but it sounds like a pretty special place. If I was younger, maybe I would have gone to see it too! But for now, I’m just happy hearin’ the stories and imaginin’ it all in my head.
And if you do go, you let me know what it’s like, ya hear? I’m always up for a good yarn.
