Okay, so, I’ve been wanting to repaint my living room for, like, ever. I finally decided to bite the bullet and just do it. But picking a color? Forget about it! It’s a nightmare. I spent weeks staring at paint chips, my eyes glazing over. Then, I stumbled upon this color called “Constellation” by Benjamin Moore, and I was intrigued.
First, I grabbed my phone and downloaded the Benjamin Moore Color Portfolio app. It’s pretty neat. I took some pictures of my living room and started virtually painting the walls with Constellation. It looked nice, but I wasn’t totally sold. I wanted to see it in real life, you know?
So, off I went to the hardware store. I found the Benjamin Moore section, and there it was – Constellation AF-540. It’s this, like, feathery light blue. I grabbed a sample pot because I’ve learned my lesson about buying a whole gallon before I’m sure. Better safe than sorry!
Back home, I slapped some of that sample paint on a few different walls in my living room. I wanted to see how it looked with the different lighting throughout the day. Morning light, afternoon sun, evening lamplight – the whole shebang. The color changed a little bit with the light, but it always kept that soft, airy vibe.
I also tested out some other colors using the samples I bought. I lived with these patches of color on my walls for a few days. Yeah, my living room looked a little crazy for a while, but it was worth it! After comparing it with the other colors, Constellation was the clear winner. It just felt right.
Making the Final Decision
The next step was buying the actual paint. I chose the Aura line from Benjamin Moore because I heard it’s, like, the best. Supposedly, it’s got great coverage, it’s super durable, and it’s easy to apply. Plus, it came highly recommended by the guy at the store. He said a lot of professionals use it because it goes on smooth, and it’s good for touching up later on. There’s even a lifetime warranty, so that’s cool, I guess.
Painting day arrived! I prepped the room, taped the edges, and put down drop cloths. It was a bit of work, but I was excited. I cracked open the can of Constellation, and I started painting.
And you know what? It was actually pretty fun! The paint went on really smooth, just like the store guy said. The coverage was amazing – I only needed two coats, and it looked fantastic. The color was just as beautiful as I’d hoped. It brightened up the whole room and made it feel so much more inviting.
I’m so glad I went with Constellation. It’s the perfect light blue, and it totally transformed my living room. If you’re looking for a soft, charming color, definitely check it out! But don’t just take my word for it – grab a sample and try it out in your own space. You might just fall in love with it, too!

It was a bit of a process, but totally worth it in the end. My living room is now my favorite room in the house, all thanks to a little can of paint called Constellation.
