So, I’ve been seeing these constellation necklaces everywhere and I finally caved. I decided to make my own, figuring it’d be a fun little project. Turns out, it was a bit more involved than I initially thought, but hey, that’s half the fun, right?
First, I gathered my materials. Here’s what I needed:
- Some thin gold chain (I went for a delicate look).
- Tiny little beads – I chose gold ones to match the chain.
- Jump rings – these are essential for connecting everything.
- A clasp for, you know, actually wearing the necklace.
- Pliers – I used two pairs, one for holding and one for bending.
- A printout of my constellation (I’m a Leo, rawr!).
- Some strong, clear-drying glue.
- And most importanly, a small, thin piece of metal, I chose gold, circle.
The Making Process!
I started by laying out my constellation pattern. I just printed a simple one from internet and placed it under the metal.
Then I began gluing my tiny little beads onto the metal following the pattern and letting it dry. I had to use a toothpick to move them around and get them just right. Patience is key here, my friends.

Once the glue was completely dry (I waited a good few hours, just to be safe), It’s time to connect the chain! I opened a jump ring with my pliers, slipped it through one end of the chain, and then attached it to my pendant. Then I closed the jump ring tightly. I repeated this on the other side.
Finally, I added the clasp. This was basically the same process as attaching the pendant – jump ring, chain, clasp, close jump ring. Easy peasy… once you get the hang of manipulating those tiny rings!
And… that’s it! My very own constellation necklace. It’s not perfect, I made so many mistakes, the glue got every where. But I made it, and that’s what counts. Plus, it’s got that handmade charm, you know?
