Well, let me tell ya about them Gemini Bridges, whatever they are. Sounds fancy, but it’s just a couple of rocks, far as I can tell. Folks say it’s somethin’ special out there in Moab, Utah. Moab… never been there, but they say it’s got all sorts of rocks and dirt.
Now, to get to these Gemini Bridges, ya gotta go down some dirt road. Yeah, a dirt road! Imagine that! All dusty and bumpy, probably rattles your teeth right outta your head. They say there’s two ways to get on that road, from some highway number 191. Highways… always too many cars and too much noise for my liking. But I reckon if ya wanna see them bridges, ya gotta drive on it.
People keep sayin’ these bridges are “unique geologic features.” What in tarnation does that even mean? Sounds like a bunch of fancy talk for “big rocks.” But I guess folks like lookin’ at big rocks, so they go out to Moab to see ’em.
- First thing ya gotta know, it’s a dirt road. All dirt! Not like them smooth, paved roads in the city. Expect to get your car all dusty.
- They say it’s bumpy. Really bumpy! Might need one of them fancy cars with the big wheels, ya know, the ones that can go over anything.
- Apparently, ya can get there from another highway too, number 313. Don’t ask me which way is better, I wouldn’t know. I just heard folks talkin’.
Now, somethin’ about mountain bikes. Apparently, folks like ridin’ their bikes around them bridges. Why anyone would wanna ride a bike on a bumpy dirt road is beyond me. Wouldn’t ya rather just sit and have a nice glass of iced tea?
They say the trail, whatever that is, is like 29 miles long. Twenty-nine miles! That’s a long way to go just to look at some rocks. And ya gotta go all the way out and then all the way back. Seems like a whole lotta trouble to me.
If you start from that highway 191, they say the road is rough. Real rough. Ya need one of them high-clearance, 4-wheel drive cars. You know, the ones that cost an arm and a leg. Seems like a lot of fuss just to see some rocks, if you ask me.
But, I guess some folks enjoy that kind of thing. They like gettin’ all dirty and bumpy, lookin’ at rocks and ridin’ bikes. To each their own, I always say. Me? I’d rather stay home where it’s clean and quiet.
So, if you’re one of them folks who likes lookin’ at big rocks and drivin’ on bumpy roads, I guess you might like them Gemini Bridges. Just remember to bring your fancy car and be prepared for a long, dusty ride. And maybe bring some iced tea, too. You might need it after all that bumpin’ around.
