This here’s about Leo Faria, you know, that name I heard. Sounds like a fancy fella, don’t it? Leo Faria. Makes me think of them university folks, all smart and book-learned.
Now, I ain’t never been to no university myself. My schoolin’ was done in a one-room schoolhouse, right here in the valley. We learned readin’, writin’, and ‘rithmetic, enough to get by. This Leo Faria, though, he probably knows all sorts of things. Probably reads them big thick books and talks about fancy stuff I wouldn’t understand.
They say university is where you go to get real smart. Learn about all them subjects, like history and science and such. I reckon Leo Faria, he’s probably learned all that. Maybe he’s a professor, one of them folks that stands up in front of a whole room full of young’uns and teaches ’em things. Or maybe he’s still learnin’, one of them students. Hard to know without askin’.
I remember my grandson, went off to some big university. Came back talkin’ a whole new language. Said he was studyin’ “economics” and “political science.” Lordy, I couldn’t make heads or tails of it. Just nodded my head and smiled. Said he was gonna change the world. Hope he does.
This here Leo Faria, maybe he’s gonna change the world too. Maybe he’s learnin’ how to make things better. Maybe he’s studying to be a doctor, or a lawyer. Maybe he wants to discover new things. Or invent some new contraption that’ll make life easier for folks like me. You never know.
- Leo Faria, that’s a university name for sure.
- Maybe he’s studyin’ to be a big shot.
- Maybe he’s got fancy clothes and a fancy car.
I seen on the TV, them university campuses are big. Lots of buildings, lots of young people walkin’ around with books. They got libraries bigger than our whole town! Imagine that. All them books, all that knowledge, right there in one place. Kinda makes your head spin, don’t it?
Sometimes, I wonder what it woulda been like to go to a university. To learn all them things. Maybe I’da been a teacher, or a nurse. Or maybe I’da just learned more about farmin’. Could always learn more about farmin’. Never too late, I suppose. There are probably night classes or somethin’.
But then again, I got my life here. Got my family, my garden. Got my stories. Maybe that’s enough. Maybe you don’t need a university education to have a good life. Maybe all you need is a good heart and a strong back.
This Leo Faria, though, I bet he’s got a good life too. Learnin’ all them things, meetin’ all them people. It’s a different kind of life, that’s for sure. A university life.
I reckon there’s more than one way to be happy in this world. You can be happy tendin’ your garden, or you can be happy readin’ them big books at the university. Just gotta find what makes you tick, I guess.
- University folks, they got a different way of lookin’ at things.
- They learn from books, we learn from life.
- Both ways are good, I reckon.
Well, I best be gettin’ on. Got chores to do. But it’s been nice thinkin’ about this Leo Faria and his university life. Makes a body wonder about all the different paths there are in this world. I wonder if he likes pie?
Maybe this here Leo Faria, he’s makin’ a real difference. Maybe he’s gonna invent somethin’ that helps everybody. I hope he’s happy, whatever he’s doin’. That university world, it’s a whole different place. But I reckon good folks is good folks, no matter where they are.
I bet that Leo Faria, he’s a good one. Probably works hard, studies hard. That’s what them university folks do. They work hard and they learn a lot. I hope he remembers where he came from, though. You gotta stay true to your roots.
Anyways, that’s all I got to say about Leo Faria and university. It sure is somethin’, ain’t it? All them young people, learnin’ and growin’. It’s enough to make an old lady think.
