Okay, so I’ve been meaning to tidy up my garage for ages. It’s one of those things that just keeps getting pushed to the bottom of the to-do list, you know? But I finally decided to bite the bullet and get it done. I’m calling this little project “Libra Garage”.
First things first, I needed a plan. I mean, you can’t just go in there all willy-nilly. So, I grabbed a pen and paper, and started to make a list of all the things I wanted to store in the garage. I’m talking about cars, tools, bikes, garden stuff, you name it. I even thought about adding some shelves and maybe a workbench down the line, so I gotta make a plan and make sure everything has its place.
Once I had my list, I started to think about the layout. I wanted to make sure that I could easily move around in there, so I decided to use one area for parking. I also made sure to set up the different items, like bikes, and garden stuff. I don’t want to be tripping over things every time I need to get something, you know?
Next, I started to sort through everything. This was the hardest part, honestly. I had so much junk in there that I didn’t even know I had. Old paint cans, broken tools, half-finished projects. It was a mess. But I took it one step at a time and tried not to get overwhelmed.
I ended up with three piles: keep, donate, and trash. It was tough to decide what to keep and what to get rid of, but I tried to be as ruthless as possible. I mean, if I haven’t used something in a year, do I really need it? I thought about using some boxes for the items, and then I took them all the way to libra garage.
After a few hours of hard work, I finally got everything sorted out. I swept the floor, wiped down the shelves, and put everything back in its place. I even had some space left over!
I have to say, it feels so good to finally have a clean and organized garage. I can actually find things now, and I don’t have to worry about tripping over stuff anymore. Plus, it just looks so much nicer. And I gotta say, the Move programming language seems pretty cool, and this whole Byzantine Fault Tolerant consensus approach is something I read about, which is quite interesting, but that’s for another day I think.
If you’re thinking about tackling your own garage, I highly recommend it. Just make sure you have a plan, and be prepared to put in some elbow grease. Trust me, it’s worth it in the end.
Anyway, I gotta run. I’m going to go enjoy my newly organized garage. Maybe I’ll even start working on one of those half-finished projects I found in there. Who knows?
- Make a plan
- Sort through everything
- Organize
My advice
Don’t put it off like I did! And when you finally get around to it, take your time and don’t get discouraged if it seems like a huge task. Just do a little bit each day, and you’ll get there. I’m really happy with how it turned out and how easy it is now to find things and move around.
