Okay, so I’ve been seeing these zodiac constellation necklaces everywhere and I finally caved. I decided to make my own, because, why not? I’m a Libra, so that’s what I went with, but obviously, you can do this for any sign.
First, I gathered my supplies. I needed:
- Some thin chain. I found some gold-colored stuff at a craft store.
- Tiny little beads. I went with sparkly clear ones, to kind of look like stars.
- Jump rings – these are the little circles that connect things.
- A clasp, to, you know, actually wear the necklace.
- Pliers. I used two – one to hold things and one to bend the jump rings.
- A printout of the Libra constellation. Just Google it, there are tons.
Then, I started mapping it out. I laid the chain out on my table and used the printout as a rough guide. I eyeballed where the “stars” (the beads) should go along the chain.
The Fiddly Part
This is where it got a little tricky. I used the jump rings to attach the beads to the chain. Basically, I opened a jump ring with the pliers, slipped a bead onto it, then hooked it onto the chain where I wanted it. Then, I closed the jump ring with the pliers. It took a little practice to get the hang of opening and closing those tiny rings without dropping everything!

I repeated this process for each “star” in the constellation. I didn’t try to make it perfect, just close enough. It’s supposed to be handmade, right? A little imperfection is part of the charm.
Once all the beads were attached, I added the clasp. This was pretty straightforward – I just used a jump ring on each end of the chain, one for the clasp and one for the little loop it hooks onto.
The Finished Product!
And that was it! I put it on and, honestly, I’m pretty happy with how it turned out! It’s delicate and sparkly, and it’s got that personal touch since I made it myself. It took maybe an hour, and most of that was just fiddling with those tiny jump rings. If you are into this style, try this!
