Okay, so I’ve been thinking about getting a tattoo for a while now, and I’ve finally decided on a Libra design. I’m a Libra, born in October, and it just feels right to have something representing that on my body. Plus, I think the scales symbol is pretty cool looking.
First thing I did was hit up Google Images to see what kind of Libra tattoos other guys have gotten. I spent hours scrolling through different designs – some were really simple, just the scales, while others were more elaborate, with constellations and other zodiac symbols mixed in. I saved a bunch of pictures that I liked to a folder on my computer.
Next, I started thinking about where I wanted the tattoo. I considered my forearm, but I also liked the idea of a full or half sleeve. I imagined different designs wrapping around my arm, incorporating the scales, maybe some stars, and maybe even the Libra constellation. It sounded pretty epic in my head.
Then I got practical. I knew I needed to find a good tattoo artist, someone who could take my ideas and turn them into something amazing. I asked around for recommendations and checked out some local shops’ Instagram pages. I found a few artists whose styles I liked, and I bookmarked their profiles to look at more closely later.
After looking at the work of some artists, I decided to make a detailed picture for my tattoo. I sketched out some rough ideas on paper, trying to combine the elements I liked from the pictures I’d saved. I’m no artist, but I managed to create something that gave a general idea of what I was going for. I am so excited now!
Finally, I decided to go to one of the shops I’d found online. I walked in, showed the artist my sketches and the pictures I’d saved, and we talked about what I wanted. He listened to my ideas, offered some suggestions, and helped me refine the design. We decided on a half-sleeve design that incorporated the scales, the Libra constellation, and some cool shading to give it depth.
After a few weeks of back and forth, we finalized the design and I booked my appointment. I paid the deposit, and now I’m just waiting for the day to come. I’m a little nervous, but mostly excited to finally get this tattoo. It’s been a long process, but I think it’s going to be worth it. I feel awesome about it!
