Okay, so today I decided to tackle this “Constellation Critter Crossword” thing. I’d seen it floating around online and figured, why not? Sounds kinda fun, right?
Getting Started
First, I needed to actually find one of these crosswords. I just did a quick search and, bam, tons of options popped up. I picked one that looked reasonably challenging, but not, like, impossible. You know, something to make my brain work a little, but not make me want to throw my computer out the window.
- I had to figure out a good place to do this. My desk is a mess, so it’s a no-go.
- I will try to use the table for this project.
The Solving Process
I printed out the crossword. Yeah, I’m old school like that. I like to have a physical copy to scribble on. So, I grabbed a pen, a nice, smooth-writing one, and got down to business.
The clues were a mix of straightforward and tricky. Some of them, I got right away. Like, “The Hunter constellation” – easy, that’s Orion. But then others were like, “A bear in the sky.” I was thinking, “Okay, Ursa Major, Ursa Minor… which one is it specifically asking for?”

I definitely got stuck a few times. I’m not gonna lie, I had to do some sneaky Googling. No shame in my game! There was this one clue about a “winged horse,” and my mind just went completely blank. Pegasus, duh! But I had to look it up to be sure.
Working Through It
It took a while, honestly. I’m not the fastest crossword solver. I like to take my time, think things through, maybe doodle a little in the margins. It’s more about the process for me, you know? The journey, not the destination, blah blah blah.
I will try harder on the clues that really stumped me.
- I used to erase the ink with a correction tape.
- Think twice or even multiple times before I try to answer.
Finally Done!
Eventually, I filled in that last square. It was a pretty good feeling, I have to admit. I’m not sure if these constellation crosswords are really going to make me an astronomy expert, but hey, it was a fun way to spend an afternoon. And I learned a few new things, which is always a win.
And I will try another “Constellation Critter Crossword” with more challenging problems.
