Okay, so I’ve been on this massive plant kick lately, and I finally took the plunge and got myself a full-grown Thai Constellation Monstera. I’d been drooling over pictures of these beauties online for ages, but I never thought I’d actually own one. Let me tell you, it’s been a journey!
Finding “The One”
First, I scoured local nurseries. No luck. Then I moved to online groups and forums. Found some, but they were either ridiculously expensive or looked kinda sad.
Finally, I stumbled into to a local shop for this plant. Finally I found it! It wasn’t cheap, I forked over a good chunk of change, but I knew it was worth it.
Getting It Home
This thing was HUGE. I mean, seriously, it barely fit in my car. I had to fold down the back seats and even then, leaves were brushing the windshield. I drove home super slowly, terrified of damaging it.

Setting Up the Perfect Spot
- I already had a big, bright corner picked out in my living room. Indirect light is key for these guys, you don’t want the leaves to burn.
- I grabbed a sturdy pot with good drainage. Repotting was NOT on my to-do list, so I made sure it was big enough for a while.
- I carefully moved that monstera.
- Lastly, I watered the soil.
The Waiting Game (and the Watering!)
Now, the real work begins! It is really important for this plant. I let the top few inches of soil dry out completely before watering again. Overwatering is a killer for these plants, so I’m being extra careful.
It’s only been a few weeks, but I’m already seeing some new growth! One new leaf is starting to unfurl, and it’s got that gorgeous variegation. I’m so stoked! I’ll keep you guys updated on its progress. Wish me luck!
