So, today I wanted to share my little adventure with making an original amethyst stone mala. You know, those beaded necklaces used for meditation and prayer. I’ve always been drawn to the beautiful purple color of amethyst, and I heard it’s a powerful stone for protection and positive energy. I thought, “Why not try making one myself?”
First, I started by gathering my materials. I found some really nice natural amethyst beads online, each about 6mm in size. They were smooth and had that deep, rich purple hue that I love. I also got a strong thread and a guru bead, which is a larger bead that marks the beginning and end of the mala. Then, I searched for 108 beads, as a traditional mala has.
Once I had everything, I started threading the beads. I put on some calming music and just focused on the process. It was actually quite meditative in itself! Each bead I added, I visualized positive energy and intentions flowing into the mala. It took some time, but I carefully strung all 108 beads onto the thread.
After all the beads were on, I added the guru bead and tied a knot to secure everything. I made sure the knot was tight so the beads wouldn’t come loose. Then, I made a tassel out of some extra thread and attached it to the guru bead. It added a nice finishing touch.
Finally, I held my completed amethyst mala in my hands. It felt amazing! The weight of the beads, the cool touch of the stones, and the energy I felt from it were all so satisfying. I cleansed the mala by smudging it with sage, charging it with my intentions, and leaving it under the moonlight to absorb some lunar energy. That added some spiritual touch, you know.
- Gather materials: I got the amethyst beads, thread, and a guru bead.
- Thread the beads: I carefully strung 108 amethyst beads onto the thread.
- Add guru bead and knot: I secured the mala with a tight knot.
- Make and attach tassel: I added a tassel for a finishing touch.
- Cleanse and charge: I cleansed the mala with sage and moonlight.
Now, I use my mala during meditation and prayer. It helps me focus and connect with my inner self. Plus, it’s a beautiful piece of jewelry that I made with my own hands! This whole experience has been so rewarding, and I’m really happy with how my original amethyst stone mala turned out. It’s not just a necklace; it’s a personal tool for peace and positivity. I find it helpful to me.
I highly recommend trying to make your own mala if you’re interested in meditation or just want a meaningful piece of jewelry. It’s a fun and fulfilling project!
