So, the other day I decided to check out this place called Pisces Fish Market. I’d heard some good things, and you know me, always up for a new food adventure. This spot is on American Legion Highway in Roslindale, a bit of a drive, but hey, good food is worth the trip, right?
Getting there and first impressions
- Drove down to 690 American Legion Hwy – that’s where this place is.
- Found the place easily enough, though parking was a bit tight.
- Walked in, and it’s your typical fish market vibe – busy, a bit noisy, and that fresh fish smell hit me right away.
Diving into the menu
- Checked out their menu. They’ve got a ton of stuff, all fried, which is great, but not so much if you’re looking for something grilled or baked.
- Noticed they had these fish sandwiches for under 10 bucks – score!
- Saw they also do steamed rice and some other sides.
Making the big decision
I’d heard their fisherman’s platter was the way to go, but those clam boxes were tempting too. After a bit of back and forth, and seeing a few people ordering the platter, I decided to go for it.
The main event
- Ordered the fisherman’s platter.
- Waited for a bit – this place is popular, so there was a bit of a line.
- Finally, got my food and found a spot to sit.
Tasting and enjoying
- Took a bite, and man, it was good! Fresh, crispy, and just the right amount of greasy.
- Ate my way through the platter – it had a bit of everything, and it was all delicious.
- Finished up and felt pretty satisfied.
Wrapping it up
After finishing my meal, I took one last look around, paid for my food, and headed out. It was a good experience, and I can see why this place has a good reputation. They seem to have a good thing going with their focus on locally caught fish like salmon, trout, and tilapia. It’s a solid choice if you’re in the mood for some fried seafood.
So, that’s my little adventure to Pisces Fish Market. Good food, good prices, and a good time. If you’re ever in Roslindale and craving some fish, give it a try. I think it’s worth the trip. But, I don’t know when I will go again, maybe I will try something else next time.
