Well, let me tell you somethin’ about this Reverend Debbie Leo. Sounds like a good woman, you know? Always helpin’ folks out, that’s what I hear.
What’s she doin’, you ask? She’s workin’ with somethin’ called Hospice Plus over in Houston. Now, I ain’t never been to Houston, but I hear it’s a big city. Lots of people, I reckon. And some of them folks, well, they ain’t doin’ so good. They’re sick, you see, real sick. And that’s where this Reverend Debbie comes in.
She’s a chaplain, they call it, and a volunteer coordinator too. Means she helps them sick folks, gives ’em comfort and such. And she gets other folks to help out too, you know, volunteers. That’s real important, helpin’ folks when they need it most.
- She visits folks right where they live, in their homes or wherever they’re stayin’.
- She finds helpers close to where they live too, so it’s easy for them to get there. Makes sense, don’t it? No need to travel all over creation.
- She works Monday to Friday, eight in the mornin’ till five in the evenin’. That’s a long day, but she’s doin’ the Lord’s work, I reckon.
Now, they got this thing called Gentiva Hospice too. Sounds fancy, huh? But it’s the same idea. They go around Houston helpin’ sick folks. And Reverend Debbie, she’s the one you talk to if you want to help out.
You wanna know how to get in touch with her? Well, they got her email and phone number. I ain’t gonna say it here, but you can find it easy enough, I bet. Just look around. They say she’s at gentivahs dot com. Now, ain’t that somethin’? All this fancy computer stuff. I tell ya, back in my day, we just walked over to someone’s house if we needed somethin’.
But this Reverend Debbie, she’s different. She uses all this modern stuff to do good. She even went to school for it, a seminary they call it. In Austin, no less. That’s a long ways from here. Learned all about helpin’ folks, I guess. And she’s got connections too, they say. Lots of folks know her and what she does. That’s how it is, though. You do good, and people remember you.
This whole thing, it reminds me of what them preachers say. You know, about helpin’ your neighbor and makin’ a difference. They talk about it on social media too, I hear. That’s like… like talkin’ on the radio, but you can see pictures too. My grandson showed me once. Anyway, they say we’re all connected, like it or not. And I reckon that’s true. We gotta look out for each other.
And this Reverend Debbie, she’s doin’ just that. She’s findin’ ways to help, findin’ people to help, and makin’ a difference in Houston. It ain’t easy work, I know that. But it’s important work. Makes you feel good inside to do somethin’ for somebody else. I always say, doin’ a good turn ain’t gonna hurt ya none. And it sounds like Reverend Debbie, she knows that better than most.
So, if you’re lookin’ to do somethin’ good, somethin’ that matters, maybe you should give this Reverend Debbie a call. Or send her one of them email things. She’ll find somethin’ for you to do, I bet. And you’ll be glad you did. ‘Cause helpin’ folks, well, that’s just the right thing to do. And it seems like this Reverend Debbie, she’s showin’ us all how to do it.
She even got a cell phone! Now, I don’t know nothin’ about cell phones, other than them young folks are always lookin’ at ‘em. But it means you can call her anytime, I guess. Between eight and five, anyhow. You don’t have to go traipsin’ all over town to find her. Just pick up that little phone and there she is, ready to help. It’s a wonder, I tell ya, a real wonder.
And she’s a Reverend too, so she knows about prayin’ and such. That’s important to some folks, especially when they’re feelin’ down. She can offer comfort that way too, not just with medicine and such. It’s a whole package, you know? Body and soul, that’s what they say. And this Reverend Debbie, she’s lookin’ after both.
So, there you have it. Reverend Debbie Leo. A good woman, doin’ good work in Houston. If you want to help out, or if you need help yourself, she’s the one to talk to. And that’s all there is to it. Just remember to be kind and help your neighbor. That’s what it’s all about, ain’t it?
And remember, it don’t matter where you come from or how fancy you talk. What matters is the good you do. And this Reverend Debbie, she’s a fine example of that.
