Alright, let me tell you about this little project I did today. I got this thing called a “kalan lp moon phases – divination cloth”. Sounds fancy, huh? Well, it’s basically a cloth with all the moon phases printed on it, used for some kinda fortune-telling thing. I was curious, so I gave it a try. I guess, I wanted to try that witchcraft stuff.
First off, I laid out the cloth on my table. It’s got all these pictures of the moon, from when it’s just a tiny sliver to when it’s big and round, and everything in between. New moon, waxing crescent, first quarter, you name it. I think there are eight phases in total. I’ve seen it before on the internet that these have something to do with paganism and witchcraft. Pretty neat, I gotta say.
Then, I followed the instructions that came with it. I’m supposed to use this cloth to do some kind of ritual. I also got this 12-sided dice set, which I guess is also used for astrology stuff. They said this is good for divination, honoring ancestors, and dream work. I don’t have any of that so I just focus on divination.
I tried the divination thing. I did it when the moon was full. I guess this is the best time to do so, I don’t know. I just thought it would feel more, you know, mystical. I rolled the dice, thought real hard about a question I had, and then looked at where the dice landed on the cloth. Each part of the cloth is supposed to mean something different, based on the moon phase it shows.

Here’s what I did:
- New Moon: I started my little ritual when the moon was new. Supposedly, this is a good time for new beginnings.
- Waxing Crescent: As the moon got a little bigger, I focused on setting intentions. Whatever that means.
- First Quarter: By this time, I was supposed to be taking action on those intentions. I tried, I guess.
- Waxing Gibbous: This phase is about refining and adjusting. I just went with the flow.
- Full Moon: This was the big one. Supposedly the peak of the cycle, good for divination and all that.
- Waning Gibbous: After the full moon, I was supposed to be reflecting and releasing.
- Third Quarter: More reflection and letting go. I was getting kinda tired of it by this point.
- Waning Crescent: This is the last phase, about rest and preparing for a new cycle.
Honestly, I’m not sure if I did it right. But it was kinda fun, playing around with the dice and the cloth, and thinking about the moon and all that. I also think about how the moon affects our witchcraft and magick stuff. I don’t know if I believe in any of this stuff, but it was an interesting experience. Maybe I’ll try it again sometime, see if I can figure out what it all means. But for now, I’ve got this cool cloth with moon pictures on it, so that’s something.
My Thoughts
This was a pretty cool experiment. It is like playing a dungeon and dragon game, but it’s just by myself and I don’t have anyone to play with. The cloth is a pretty neat idea. I’m not sure about the whole divination thing, but it was fun to try. I’ve always been a bit fascinated by the moon, and this was a new way to connect with it. I think I’ll keep the cloth and maybe try this again sometime. Who knows, maybe I’ll even become a believer!
