Hey everyone, it’s been a while! Today I want to share my little project about making a Taurus constellation necklace. I’ve always been fascinated by stars and constellations, and Taurus, being associated with Zeus in Greek mythology, really caught my eye.
So, I started digging into this. I found out that the Taurus constellation is one of the oldest, dating back to the Early Bronze Age. It marked the location of the Sun during the spring equinox, which I thought was pretty cool. Plus, it has some bright stars like Aldebaran, Elnath, and Alcyone.
With all this info, I got the idea to make a necklace. First, I looked around online to see what was already out there. I saw a bunch of different styles and prices. Some were simple, some were more detailed, some were gold, some were silver, and they ranged from about 7 bucks to over 3,000! It was a lot to take in, but it gave me a good idea of what I liked and didn’t like.
Next, I decided to sketch out my own design. I wanted it to be unique but also recognizable as the Taurus constellation. I’m no artist, but I doodled a few ideas until I had something I was happy with. It was a simple design focusing on the key stars.
Then came the fun part – picking the materials. I opted for a 14K gold-dipped pendant ’cause it looked classy and wouldn’t break the bank. For the chain, I went with a simple gold one that wouldn’t overshadow the pendant.
Once I had all the materials, I started putting it all together. I connected the pendant to the chain, and honestly, it was easier than I expected. The whole process was quite therapeutic, and seeing the final product come together was super satisfying.
Here’s how it turned out:

- It’s simple enough to wear every day but also special enough to start conversations.
I’ve been wearing it for a few weeks now, and I love it. It’s a nice little reminder of the beauty of the night sky and the cool stories behind the constellations. Plus, it’s a unique piece that I made myself, which makes it even more special.
