Well, y’know, when folks been askin’ where that show “Constellation” was filmed, I reckon it’s a bit of a long story. You see, they didn’t just pick one place to do it all. No, no, they went all over, kinda like how a good farmer moves between fields, lookin’ for the best land. Most of it was filmed in Huntsville, Alabama. That’s where the big NASA center is, so I reckon they thought it made sense. It sure looks like they had a good time there, with all them big buildings and rocket ships and whatnot.
But it ain’t all just in one place, like a loaf of bread sittin’ in one pan. They filmed some parts over in Finland, too. Y’all know Finland, don’t you? It’s up there, way cold with snow all the time, real nice for shootin’ space scenes. They even used a place called Inari in Finland – sounds like somethin’ outta a fairy tale, don’t it? And then, to make it even fancier, they went all the way to Morocco, and Germany too, like they couldn’t decide which country gave them the best look for the show. Must’ve been quite a sight, seein’ all them foreign places on the screen.
Now, I gotta tell ya, they filmed a whole bunch of scenes at this place called Aéroport Errachidia, in Morocco. Don’t ask me to pronounce that, I can barely say it myself. But that’s where they filmed them parts that had to do with Baikonur. For folks who ain’t familiar, Baikonur is a real important spaceport. It’s where they launch rockets, and I reckon it was just the right place for “Constellation” to get that feel of goin’ up into space. So, in short, they didn’t stick to just one spot, no sir. They went all over, just like how a good ol’ farmer checks every field before they plant their crops.
And let me tell ya, if you haven’t seen the show, it’s about this woman named Jo who comes back to Earth after somethin’ bad happens up in space. She comes back and realizes there’s somethin’ missin’, like a piece of a puzzle that don’t quite fit. Now, you might think that sounds simple enough, but trust me, it ain’t. The story gets a little complicated with all the twists and turns, kind of like tryin’ to find your way through a corn maze at Halloween. By the time you’re halfway through, you start to get the hang of it, but then it throws in more surprises that make ya scratch your head. Real slow burn, kinda like stew that takes all day to cook.
Some folks really liked it, but others? Well, they thought it was a bit slow. They said by the third or fourth episode, you kinda get the gist of things, but the show keeps draggin’ on like it’s waitin’ for somethin’ big to happen. But hey, that’s the way it goes sometimes, right? Some folks like a good long wait, others wanna see the action faster. But at the end of the day, if you like a bit of sci-fi mixed with mystery, maybe it’s worth a watch.
Now, here’s somethin’ I gotta tell ya. Apple TV+ decided they weren’t gonna make a second season of “Constellation.” Yup, they canceled it after just one season. I reckon the folks behind the show probably weren’t too happy about that. I mean, they had put a lot of time and money into it, and even filmed in all them faraway places. But no, they ain’t gonna continue it. It finished up its first season back in March, and that’s it. So, if you were hopin’ for more, well, I’m afraid it ain’t comin’. Guess they just didn’t think it was worth it. Can’t say I blame ’em, though. Making a show ain’t cheap, especially when you gotta travel to all them countries and do all them fancy shots.
But in the end, you can always go back and watch the first season, and see all them pretty places they filmed. Even if they won’t be makin’ a second season, I reckon it still had its moments. And who knows, maybe you’ll spot somethin’ in the background that looks like it could be your backyard! Ain’t that somethin’?
