Okay, guys, so today I’m diving into something totally different and kinda cool – zodiac constellation tattoos! I’ve been seeing these delicate, minimalist designs all over, and I finally decided to take the plunge and figure out how to make my own.
First, I grabbed my iPad and pencil. I’m no artist, but I figured I could at least trace something, right? That’s where I started – just looking up my own sign, Libra. I found a bunch of images of the constellation online, some simple, some super detailed.
Finding My Style
I played around with a few different styles. Initially, I was thinking super simple, just the basic lines connecting the stars. But then, I stumbled across some designs that incorporated the Libra scales symbol into the constellation, and I was like, “Ooh, that’s kinda neat!”
- Tried just the star dots.
- Experimented with connecting lines – thick and thin.
- Doodled some tiny scale icons near the constellation.
It was a lot of trial and error, to be honest. I erased a LOT. I’m pretty sure my iPad screen is permanently indented from all my furious scribbling. I spent a good hour just messing with different layouts and sizes. I even considered adding some tiny watercolor-style splashes of color, but ultimately decided to keep it clean and simple.

Getting it (Almost) Perfect
After I had a design I kinda liked, I printed it out. Seeing it on paper made a big difference. It helped me see where the lines weren’t quite straight, or where the stars weren’t evenly spaced. More erasing and tweaking on the iPad!
I repeated this process – print, review, edit – like three or four times. Each time, I noticed something new to fix. It’s amazing how the little details pop out when you see it in a different format.
Finally, I had something I was pretty happy with. It’s not perfect, but it’s mine, and it represents my sign in a way that feels personal and stylish. Now, I just need to decide where to put it! That’s a whole other adventure…
